Lichen Sclerosus is more commonly treated with a corticosteroid cream or ointment such as:
Dermovate
Eumovate
Trimovate
Nerisone
These are applied in a finger tip amount as follows:
Twice daily for 1 month
Once daily for 1 month
Once every other day for 1 month
Twice a week as a maintenance dose.
Alternatively other treatments are available such as:
Stem Cell (PRP)
Mona Lisa touch
However these are not currently available on the NHS.

Do Steroids thin the skin?
Many people are worried about using steroids as there are reports that it thins the skin.
Steroids actually reverse the thinning caused by Lichen Sclerosus. This is why it is so important to get your medical professional to show you exactly where you need to apply the cream/ointment as everyone is different. Also make sure you use a handheld mirror whilst applying the cream.
Using a maintenance dose will not cause the skin to thin as the small amount used isn't enough or used frequent enough to cause thinning. Speak with your medical professional if you have any concerns.
